Please let the rumors be true, is this an official Daft Punk site?  Rumors are spreading quickly through the web like wild fire.  The robot duo only tour in decades starting in 1997, so we're due for another next year.  If you zoom in on the page, you'll see a hidden countdown clock along the letter I.  According the Billboard, the clock ends on October 27th 2016.  Apparently the site's metadata reveals this date as "Wake Date", along with the city names Paris, Los Angeles, London, New York, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Ibiza, and Indio (Coachella??).

I look forward to the 27th, what do you guys think?  Check out Daft Punks most recent release with The Weeknd below.

Music Discovery: Justice by Kyle Johnstone

If feels like forever since I've heard any new Justice music, then this morning on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show I heard something new and familiar at the same time.  Justice's new single called "Randy" ran goosebumps up my arms.  I had to look it up, but it's been five years since we've got any new Justice!  Sorry I'm a little behind, this song dropped last week, but this is too good not to post.  They currently have two singles available from their upcoming album titled "Woman", and I'll provide them below.  Woman releases on November 18th!

Introducing TIDAL "The Avengers of Music" by Kyle Johnstone

TIDAL, the first "HIFI" (High Fidelity) lossless music streaming service to hit the market.  Any music lover should be ecstatic, but it comes at a premium price.  Apparently Jay Z acquired the company in a $56 million deal.  Jay Z reportedly offered millions of dollars and/or stock to Artists and Icons in the industry to join as co-owners.  Artist giants to all have input and say how music, including theirs is output, very cool idea!  The TIDAL Avengers include Jay Z & Beyonce, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Rihanna, Thomas Bangalter & Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk, Alicia Keys, Calvin Harris, Jack White, Madonna, Usher, Win Butler & Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire, and lastly Joel Thomas Zimmerman aka Deadmau5.  The commotion started when the co-owners started changing their profile pictures on social medias to TIDAL blue and hash tag #TIDALforALL .

Their only competition I can clearly see is Spotify's streaming service.  Spotify is free to desktop users with ads or on mobile with in shuffle mode with ads as well. Spotify offers a premium service of $9.99 with no ads and free to play music on any platform.  But their only down fall is the quality of compressed audio, TIDAL is completely lossless and has speed.  Reminds me of the first version of Pied Piper from the HBO show Silicon Valley.  TIDAL's target audience is in the  premium marketplace, their press page states "The ideal music service for those who care about quality".  TIDAL's premium service comes with a price tag of $19.99 a month for HIFI sound.  They also provide HD music related video content, a library of 25 million tracks that's growing every week, 75,000 music videos, and curated music related editorials written by "experts".  Now they do offer a downgraded $9.99 a month service for Spotify quality sound along with the video and editorial perks.  That brings some competition for Spotify! Watch the extravagant launch video that they live streamed yesterday on their site!

Don Diablo's Newest Creation, Hexagon Radio by Kyle Johnstone

If you're a lover of EDM, this is perfect outlet for new and current music! I just found out about this a week or two ago and I clicked subscribe before I even finished the first episode.  His little character & co-host Hexagon is a little cheezy, but it doesn't take away from the quality of material Don Diablo presents. My favorite part of the show is #DemoDay , where he present a new and up-and-comer DJ or producer.  The track listing are all provided by iTunesSoundCloud, and his own website, they're all streamable and of course the whole thing is totally free.
